Performance Requirements for Backflow Prevention Requirements for Commercial Dishwashing Machines

ASSE/ANSI 1004-2024 applies to the backflow prevention device used on the potable water supply connected to a commercial dishwashing machine. The backflow prevention device shall be one of the following in compliance with Section 1.2.2:
a) An air gap
b) An air gap fitting
c) An atmospheric type vacuum breaker
d) A hose connection vacuum breaker
e) A pressure vacuum breaker
f) A hose connection backflow preventer or
g) A spill‐resistant vacuum breaker
